Manly Beach
Manly Beach is Australia’s one of the most famous beaches, is situated among the Northern Beaches of Sydney. It is one of the most visited beaches in the city. This beach comprises three major sections that are Queenscliff Beach, North Steyne, and South Steyne.

Back in 1903, Manly was one of the foremost seaside resorts to allow daylight surfing and swimming. It offers an exceptional combination of the peaceful sandy harbor on one side and wide ocean beaches on the other.
It got its name after the natives. According to Capt. Arthur Phillip, he named it “Manly” because of the confidence and manly behavior of people living there.

Surfing at Manly
Manly is also the most renowned for it’s surfing opportunities. Alongside with the Freshwater, Manly is the birthplace of Australian surfing. The first World Surfing Championship was conducted here in 1964. Queenscliff headland that is the northern end of the beach has the perfect surfing conditions and the consistent swells that create the kind of waves valued by top surfers.

You can get to the Manly by different means including:

Planning your tip though Transport NSW has never been easier. The best and the most recommended way to get to the beach is through a leisurely 30 min ferry ride. You can get on the ferry at Circular Quay, it then glides across the beautiful natural harbours to the Manly Wharf.

The beach gives unbeatable panoramic views with its golden shore that stretches over three kilometres. This unmatched view gives one of the best spots to photograph amazing sunsets and sunrises. Almost all parts of the beach will welcome you with an outstanding sun rising and setting views.

Another historically important place is the Third Quarantine Cemetery, you can also take a guided tour and discover the stories of those unlucky ones who were plagued with smallpox during a widespread epidemic.
